The Dickies

American punk band formed in San Fernando Valley, California in 1977 by guitarist Stan Lee and vocalist Leonard Graves Phillips. Notable for their rapid tempos, bubblegum-pop melodies, and a steady stream of cover songs (including the Banana Splits theme, Black Sabbath's "Paranoid," and the Killer Klowns from Outer Space theme).

Their 1979 debut The Incredible Shrinking Dickies and 1979's Dawn of the Dickies defined the formula. Active intermittently across five decades, with recurring lineup changes around the Lee/Phillips core. Eight studio albums plus EPs and singles. Phillips died in 2024.
