Scottish-English singer-songwriter born January 10, 1945, in London. First gained prominence as vocalist for the Jeff Beck Group (1967-1969) and Faces (1969-1975) before launching his commercially dominant solo career.
Released over 30 solo studio albums between An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down (1969) and Swing Fever (2024). Commercial peak years spanning soft rock, disco-pop, and adult contemporary include Every Picture Tells a Story (1971), A Night on the Town (1976), Foot Loose & Fancy Free (1977), and the Great American Songbook series (2002-2010). Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice — as a solo artist (1994) and as a member of Faces (2012).
