They Might Be Giants

American alternative rock duo (later expanded to a full band) formed in Brooklyn, New York in 1982 by John Flansburgh (vocals, guitar) and John Linnell (vocals, accordion, keyboards). Early output, including the Dial-A-Song phone-line release mechanism, established a quirky, lyrically dense pop-rock aesthetic. Backing musicians solidified into a full band by John Henry (1994).

Their commercial peak came with Flood (1990), which produced the singles "Birdhouse in Your Soul" and "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)." The band has released 23 studio albums spanning adult and children's records — earning two Grammy Awards for Here Come the ABCs (2005) and the Boss of Me theme to Malcolm in the Middle. Active continuously since 1982.
