American pop-punk band formed in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1981 by vocalist/guitarist Joe Queer (Joe King). Style draws heavily from the Ramones, '60s girl groups, and the Beach Boys.
Active for over four decades with continuously rotating lineups. Best-known releases include Grow Up (1990), Love Songs for the Retarded (1993), Don't Back Down (1996), and Punk Rock Confidential (1998). Released on Lookout!, Hopeless, and Asian Man Records. Twelve studio albums total. King is the only continuous member.
