Canadian-American singer-songwriter and guitarist born November 12, 1945, in Toronto. First gained prominence in Buffalo Springfield (1966-1968) and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (1969-1970, intermittent reunions). His longtime backing band Crazy Horse has accompanied him on much of his solo work since 1969.
Released over 40 solo studio albums between Neil Young (1968) and Coastal (2025). Critical peak: After the Gold Rush (1970), Harvest (1972), Tonight's the Night (1975), Zuma (1975), and Rust Never Sleeps (1979). Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice — as a solo artist (1995) and with Buffalo Springfield (1997). Continues to record and tour at age 80.
