Steve Miller Band

2 concerts · 0 records

American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1966 by Steve Miller (vocals/guitar) — the band's only continuous member. Distinguished by the fusion of blues, psychedelic rock, and pop hooks that defined the band's classic 1970s commercial peak.

Released 18 studio albums starting with Children of the Future (1968). Commercial peak: The Joker (1973), Fly Like an Eagle (1976), and Book of Dreams (1977). The latter two albums combined sold over 12 million copies in the US. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, though Miller's controversial acceptance speech criticized the institution's gender imbalance.
