American glam metal band formed in San Diego in 1976 (originally as Mickey Ratt). Classic lineup: Stephen Pearcy (vocals), Warren DeMartini (guitar), Robbin Crosby (guitar, 1981-1990, died 2002), Juan Croucier (bass), and Bobby Blotzer (drums).
Their 1984 debut Out of the Cellar sold over 3 million copies in the US on the strength of "Round and Round." Subsequent releases: Invasion of Your Privacy (1985), Dancing Undercover (1986), Reach for the Sky (1988), and Detonator (1990). Crosby died of AIDS-related causes in 2002. The band has reunited and split multiple times since the late 1990s.
