His tenure on five Stones studio albums — including Sticky Fingers (1971), Exile on Main St. (1972), and Goats Head Soup (1973) — coincided with the band's critical peak.
Released six solo studio albums starting with Mick Taylor (1979). Has frequently performed with Bob Dylan, John Mayall (with whom he played in the Bluesbreakers before joining the Stones), and various blues-rock acts. Has reunited periodically with the Rolling Stones for select tours since the 1980s.
