American alternative metal band formed in Brooklyn, New York in 1989. Lineup: Mina Caputo (vocals; previously credited as Keith Caputo prior to her 2011 gender transition), Joey Z. (Joseph Zampella, guitar), Alan Robert (bass), and various drummers.
Six studio albums starting with River Runs Red (1993), which became a cult favorite in the 1990s alternative metal scene. Subsequent releases include Ugly (1995), Soul Searching Sun (1997), and A Place Where There's No More Pain (2017). The band broke up in 1999, reunited in 2003, broke up again, and reunited a second time in 2014.
