Founding lineup: Jonathan Davis (vocals), James "Munky" Shaffer (guitar), Brian "Head" Welch (guitar, 1993-2005, 2013-present), Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu (bass), and David Silveria (drums, replaced by Ray Luzier in 2009). Pioneers of nu-metal alongside Limp Bizkit and Deftones.
The 1994 self-titled debut sold over 2 million copies. Subsequent peaks: Life Is Peachy (1996), Follow the Leader (1998), and Issues (1999). Fifteen studio albums total. Davis has continued as the band's vocalist throughout; Welch's 2005 departure (related to his Christian conversion) and 2013 return were widely covered.
