American singer-songwriter and guitarist born May 28, 1945, in Berkeley, California. First gained prominence as the primary songwriter and vocalist of Creedence Clearwater Revival (1967-1972). Decades-long legal battles with Fantasy Records owner Saul Zaentz over the CCR catalog defined much of his post-CCR career.
Eleven solo studio albums between The Blue Ridge Rangers (1973) and Fogerty's Factory (2020). Commercial peak: Centerfield (1985, featuring the title track and "The Old Man Down the Road"). In 2023, Fogerty finally bought back the publishing rights to most of his CCR songs. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with CCR in 1993.
