Elvis Costello

English singer-songwriter born Declan MacManus in 1954. Solo career as a working artist since 1977; one of the most prolific and stylistically restless songwriters of the post-punk era. Frequently performs with the Attractions (1977-1986) or the Imposters (2002-present).

Released over 30 studio albums spanning new wave (My Aim Is True, 1977; This Year's Model, 1978), country (Almost Blue, 1981), orchestral pop (North, 2003), and collaborations across genres — including with Burt Bacharach (Painted from Memory, 1998), Allen Toussaint (The River in Reverse, 2006), and the Roots (Wise Up Ghost, 2013). Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
