American hardcore punk band formed in Highland Park, Illinois in 1983 (originally as Suburban Nightmare). Vocalist Blag Dahlia (Paul Cafaro) has been the band's only continuous member. The band relocated to San Francisco in the late 1980s and has been associated with the West Coast scuzz-punk scene since.
Twelve studio albums starting with Horror Stories (1986). Best-known releases include Blood Guts & Pussy (1990) and Sugarfix (1993), both released on Sub Pop. The band is also known for provocative stage shows and album artwork. Active continuously.
