American guitarist and vocalist born April 10, 1959, in Massapequa, New York. First gained prominence as vocalist/guitarist for the Stray Cats. Following the band's 1984 breakup, he pursued solo projects and founded the Brian Setzer Orchestra.
Released over 15 solo studio albums and Orchestra albums starting with The Knife Feels Like Justice (1986). The Brian Setzer Orchestra's 1998 cover of "Jump, Jive an' Wail" rejuvenated his commercial profile during the late-1990s swing revival. The orchestra's Boogie Woogie Christmas (2002) became a perennial holiday album. Continues to record and tour.
