American rock band led by Bob Seger (born May 6, 1945, in Dearborn, Michigan). Seger formed the Silver Bullet Band in 1973 after a series of earlier groups; long-running lineup included Drew Abbott (guitar), Robyn Robbins (keyboards), Chris Campbell (bass), and Charlie Allen Martin (drums).
Released 11 studio albums between Live Bullet (1976) and Ride Out (2014). Commercial peak: Night Moves (1976), Stranger in Town (1978, featuring "Old Time Rock and Roll"), Against the Wind (1980, a #1 album), and The Distance (1982). Seger announced retirement from touring in 2019. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
