American singer (1953-2016). B.E. Taylor (William Berton Edward Taylor) led the B.E. Taylor Group, a Pittsburgh-area rock band that gained regional success in the early 1980s. Later in his career, he became known for his hugely popular annual Christmas concert tours throughout western Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.
Released multiple studio albums under both B.E. Taylor Group and as a solo artist, including Innermission (1984) and the Christmas album series (1996-2010). Taylor died of brain cancer in 2016; tribute concerts featuring his backing band have continued in his honor.
