Southport Pleasureland: A Farewell Ride at a Classic Seaside Park

This stop carried a bit of history with it. We visited Southport Pleasureland during what turned out to be its final season, as the classic seaside park closed for good in 2006. Getting to walk its midways and ride its attractions before they disappeared made this visit feel special and a little bittersweet.

There's something poignant about experiencing a place in its last days, and we're grateful we got the chance. We took our time soaking up the old-fashioned seaside atmosphere before continuing up the coast toward Blackpool.
