English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968. Long-running lineup centered on bassist Chris Squire (1968-2015, died 2015). Other key members included vocalist Jon Anderson (1968-1980, 1983-2008, 2016-present), guitarist Steve Howe (1970-1981, 1991-present), keyboardist Rick Wakeman (1971-1974, 1976-1980, 1995-1997, 2002-2004), and drummers Bill Bruford and Alan White.
Twenty-three studio albums starting with Yes (1969). Critical peak: The Yes Album (1971), Fragile (1971), Close to the Edge (1972), and Going for the One (1977). Commercial second act: 90125 (1983, featuring "Owner of a Lonely Heart"). Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
