American punk rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1977. Lineup: Exene Cervenka (vocals), John Doe (vocals/bass), Billy Zoom (guitar), and D.J. Bonebrake (drums). One of the foundational LA punk acts; distinguished by Cervenka and Doe's interlocking vocal harmonies and Zoom's rockabilly-influenced guitar.

The Doors' Ray Manzarek produced the band's first four albums: Los Angeles (1980), Wild Gift (1981), Under the Big Black Sun (1982), and More Fun in the New World (1983). Zoom left in 1985; the band continued through the 1990s with various guitarists before the original lineup reunited in 1998. The original four-piece released Alphabetland (2020) and Smoke & Fiction (2024) — the latter described as their final album.
