American country singer born Christina Claire Ciminella on May 30, 1964, in Ashland, Kentucky. Half of the mother-daughter duo The Judds (1983-1991, with Naomi Judd, 1946-2022) before launching her solo career. Distinguished by her powerful contralto vocals.
Released eight solo studio albums between Wynonna (1992, 5x platinum, featuring "She Is His Only Need") and Recollection (2020). The Judds reunited intermittently in subsequent decades; Naomi Judd died in 2022 by suicide one day before the Judds' Country Music Hall of Fame induction. Wynonna has continued the planned 2022-2023 reunion tour as a solo tribute.
