American rock band formed in New York City in 1987. Long-running lineup: Kip Winger (vocals/bass), Reb Beach (guitar), Paul Taylor (keyboards, joined 1988), and Rod Morgenstein (drums). Distinguished by their slick, keyboard-heavy hard rock during the late-1980s glam-metal era. Frequent target of mockery on MTV's Beavis and Butt-Head, which damaged the band's public perception in the early 1990s.
Released seven studio albums between Winger (1988) and Seven (2023). Commercial peak: Winger (platinum-certified, featuring "Seventeen" and "Madalaine") and In the Heart of the Young (1990).
