Lineup historically centered on Michel "Away" Langevin (drums) and the late Denis "Piggy" D'Amour (guitar). Distinguished by their dissonant, chord-based riffing, sci-fi concept albums, and Away's distinctive comic-book artwork.
Fifteen studio albums between War and Pain (1984) and Synchro Anarchy (2022). Critical peak: Killing Technology (1987), Dimension Hatröss (1988), and Nothingface (1989, featuring a cover of Pink Floyd's "Astronomy Domine"). D'Amour died in 2005 of colon cancer; the band continued with Daniel "Chewy" Mongrain on guitar. Synchro Anarchy won the 2023 Juno Award for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year.
