American rock band formed in Isla Vista, California in 1989. Long-running lineup centered on Whitfield Crane (vocals). Distinguished by their satirical name (chosen to mock the era's prettyboy glam-metal bands) and their late-arrival commercial peak as glam metal collapsed.
Released five studio albums between As Ugly as They Wanna Be (1991) and Rad Wings of Destiny (2022). Commercial peak: America's Least Wanted (1992, multi-platinum, featuring "Everything About You" and their cover of Harry Chapin's "Cat's in the Cradle"). Reunited in 2010 after a long hiatus.
