American punk rock band formed in Long Beach, California in 1978 (officially T.S.O.L., for True Sounds of Liberty). Long-running lineup historically centered on Jack Grisham (vocals). Stylistically restless across hardcore punk (early years), gothic-influenced punk (Dance with Me, 1981), glam metal (mid-1980s), and a return to hardcore/punk (1990s reunion onward).
Released over a dozen studio albums between Dance with Me (1981) and Set the Hook (2024). Critical peak: Dance with Me. The Grisham-led TSOL split in the mid-1980s and a competing lineup continued under the TSOL name; Grisham reclaimed the band in the late 1990s.
