American rock band formed in Santa Barbara, California in 1986. Long-running lineup: Glen Phillips (vocals/guitar), Todd Nichols (guitar), Dean Dinning (bass), and Randy Guss (drums). The band's name comes from a Monty Python's Flying Circus sketch.

Released seven studio albums between Bread & Circus (1989) and Starting Now (2021). Commercial peak: Fear (1991, featuring "All I Want" and "Walk on the Ocean") and Dulcinea (1994, featuring "Fall Down"). On hiatus 1998-2006; has continued touring since the 2006 reunion.
