American post-hardcore band formed in Orem, Utah in 2001. Long-running lineup centered on Bert McCracken (vocals). Distinguished by their fusion of post-hardcore with emo, screamo, and pop-punk during the early-2000s emo boom.
Released nine studio albums between The Used (2002) and Toxic Positivity (2023). Commercial peak: The Used and In Love and Death (2004, featuring "All That I've Got" and "I Caught Fire"). McCracken was the boyfriend of My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way's late friend Kate, whose death informed the My Chemical Romance album The Black Parade.
