0 concerts · 1 record

The house band of NBC's The Tonight Show, which has gone through multiple incarnations matched to different Tonight Show hosts and bandleaders. The most famous configuration is the Doc Severinsen-led band (1967-1992) during Johnny Carson's Tonight Show tenure, featuring trumpet bandleader Severinsen and drummer Ed Shaughnessy.

Released numerous albums during the Severinsen era. The Severinsen-led band was a big-band-jazz ensemble; later iterations under Jay Leno (Branford Marsalis, then Kevin Eubanks) and Jimmy Fallon (The Roots, since 2014) have taken different musical directions.
