American ska band formed in New York City in 1981 by Robert "Bucket" Hingley. Considered one of the foundational acts of the American ska revival; Hingley founded Moon Ska Records (later Megalith Records) and signed many of the era's third-wave ska acts.
Released over a dozen studio albums starting with Skaboom! (1987). Best-known releases include This Gun for Hire (1990) and Don't Let the Bastards Grind You Down (1996). The band has cycled through many members over its 40-plus years, with Hingley the only constant. The 2008 documentary Together chronicled the band's history.
