British 2 Tone ska band formed in Coventry in 1979. Long-running lineup historically centered on Pauline Black (vocals, b. 1953) and Arthur "Gaps" Hendrickson (vocals). Distinguished as one of the foundational bands of the late-1970s 2 Tone ska revival alongside the Specials and Madness.
Released two studio albums during their initial run: Too Much Pressure (1980) and Celebrate the Bullet (1981). The band reformed in the 1990s and again in 2010; Pauline Black has continued to lead the Selecter through their multiple reunions.
