American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1998. Long-running lineup centered on Joe Cardamone (vocals/guitar, b. 1979). Distinguished by their fusion of post-hardcore, noise rock, and glam-influenced art rock.
Released nine studio albums between Mono (2001) and All Things Under Heaven (2015). Critical peak: Penance Soiree (2004) and Black Lives at the Golden Coast (2007). The band dissolved in 2017; Cardamone has subsequently led the project Holy War.
