American rock band formed in Kansas City, Kansas in 1995. Long-running lineup: Matt Pryor (vocals/guitar), Jim Suptic (guitar/vocals), Rob Pope (bass), Ryan Pope (drums), and James Dewees (keyboards). Foundational influence on the second-wave emo and pop-punk movements of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Released six studio albums between Four Minute Mile (1997) and Problems (2019). Critical peak: Something to Write Home About (1999). Members have led numerous side projects including the New Amsterdams (Pryor), Reggie and the Full Effect (Dewees), and the Architects.
