Canadian vocal quartet formed in Toronto in 1948. Original lineup: Bernie Toorish (tenor), Connie Codarini (bass), Frank Busseri (baritone), and Jimmy Arnold (lead). Distinguished by their close-harmony pop vocals in the pre-rock-and-roll "belt" tradition.
Released numerous singles starting in the early 1950s. Best-known recordings: "Moments to Remember" (1955), "Standing on the Corner" (1956), and "Who Needs You" (1956). Backed Johnnie Ray on the 1951 #1 "Cry," their first major recording session. Continued performing in revival circuits into the 2000s.
