New Zealand rock band formed in Cambridge, Waikato in 1995 (originally as Trinket). Long-running lineup centered on Dolf de Borst (vocals/bass, performing as Dolf de Datsun). Distinguished by their throwback 1970s hard-rock revivalism in the vein of the Hellacopters and the early Foo Fighters.
Released seven studio albums between The Datsuns (2002) and Eye to Eye (2014). Critical peak: The Datsuns and Outta Sight/Outta Mind (2004, produced by Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones).
