American rapper born Talib Kweli Greene on October 3, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York. Member of Black Star with Mos Def (Yasiin Bey) and Reflection Eternal with Hi-Tek. Distinguished by his dense, literate lyricism and his association with the late-1990s conscious hip-hop movement.
Released eight solo studio albums between Quality (2002) and Liberation 2 (2022, with Madlib). Critical peak: Quality, The Beautiful Struggle (2004), and Eardrum (2007). Co-founded the Javotti Media label/publishing house.
