American gothic rock duo formed in San Francisco in 1989. Lineup: Tina Root (vocals) and Susan Wallace (keyboards). Distinguished by their fairy-tale-meets-darkwave gothic style with prominent classical and harpsichord-style keyboard textures.
Released three studio albums between Serpentine Gallery (1995) and The Three Calamities (1999) before splitting in 1999. Root subsequently led Tre Lux and continues to record.
