English rock band formed in London in 1969. Long-running classic lineup: Roger Hodgson (vocals/keyboards, 1969-1983), Rick Davies (vocals/keyboards), John Helliwell (saxophone, 1973-present), Dougie Thomson (bass, 1972-1988), and Bob Siebenberg (drums, 1973-present). Distinguished by Davies and Hodgson's contrasting vocal styles.
Ten studio albums starting with Supertramp (1970). Commercial peak: Crime of the Century (1974), Breakfast in America (1979, featuring "The Logical Song," "Take the Long Way Home," and the title track — over 20 million copies sold), and ...Famous Last Words... (1982). Hodgson departed in 1983. Davies has led the band intermittently since.
