American industrial metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1994 (officially Static-X). Long-running lineup historically centered on Wayne Static (1965-2014, vocals/guitar). Distinguished by their "evil disco" style (Static's term) — combining nu-metal with industrial dance rhythms.
Released seven studio albums between Wisconsin Death Trip (1999) and Project: Regeneration Vol. 2 (2024). Wayne Static died in 2014 of mixed-substance toxicity. The band re-formed in 2019 with the original lineup minus Static, performing with a masked vocalist ("Xer0") and incorporating posthumous Wayne Static vocal tracks.
