American Christian rock band formed in New Braunfels, Texas in 1992. Long-running lineup centered on Leigh Nash (vocals) and Matt Slocum (guitar/cello/songwriter). The band's name comes from a passage in C.S. Lewis's Mere Christianity. Distinguished by their dreamy, harmony-rich indie-pop style.
Released six studio albums between The Fatherless and the Widow (1994) and Strange Conversation (2019). Commercial peak: Sixpence None the Richer (1997, eventually multi-platinum after the 1998 reissue, featuring the international #1 "Kiss Me" and the Crowded House cover "Don't Dream It's Over").
