American hardcore band formed in New York City in 1989 by Ray Cappo (vocals, formerly of Youth of Today) and John Porcelly (guitar). Distinguished by Krishna-conscious lyrical themes alongside straightedge messaging — bridging hardcore with elements of devotional music.
Seven studio albums between 1990 and 2001 including Quest for Certainty (1992), Mantra (1995), and Beyond Planet Earth (1997). Released on Equal Vision Records, the label co-founded by Cappo. The band has been on extended hiatus since the early 2000s with periodic reunion shows.
