American rock band formed in Detroit in 1972. Lineup historically centered on Jim McCarty (guitar, formerly of Mitch Ryder's band) and Johnny "Bee" Badanjek (drums). Distinguished by their long association with the Detroit hard-rock scene and their mid-1970s arena-rock sound.
Released seven studio albums between Love Transfusion (1977) and Rocket Roll (1982). Best-known recording: "Oh Well" (1979, a Fleetwood Mac cover). Frequently confused with the unrelated Italian disco band the Rockets active in the same period.
