Rocket From the Crypt

American rock band formed in San Diego in 1989. Long-running lineup: John Reis (vocals/guitar), Andy Stamets (guitar), Petey X (bass), JC2000 (saxophone), Apollo 9 (saxophone), and various drummers. Distinguished by their matching uniforms, horn-driven garage-punk, and visual aesthetic.

Seven studio albums between Paint as a Fragrance (1991) and Live from Camp X-Ray (2002). Commercial peak: Scream, Dracula, Scream! (1995, featuring "On a Rope") and RFTC (1998). Disbanded in 2005 and reunited in 2011. Reis has also led Drive Like Jehu, Hot Snakes, the Sultans, and the Night Marchers.
