American garage rock band formed in Saginaw, Michigan in 1962 by Mexican-American teenage cousins. Lineup: ? (Question Mark, Rudy Martinez, vocals), Frank Lugo (bass), Frank Rodriguez (organ), Robert Martinez (drums, replaced by Eddie Serrato in 1964), and Bobby Balderrama (guitar).
Best known for the 1966 #1 single "96 Tears," a garage-rock standard that remains one of the most-covered songs of the era. Released two studio albums in the original run: 96 Tears (1966) and Action (1967). The band has reunited periodically since the 1980s, often with the original members.
