Puerto Rican alternative metal band formed in San Juan in 1989. Long-running lineup centered on Sergio Curbelo (vocals). Distinguished by their integration of Latin rhythms (salsa, bomba, plena) with nu-metal and Latin metal.
Released four studio albums between Puya (1995) and Areito (2018). Critical peak: Fundamental (1999, MCA Records), which combined Latin percussion with heavy metal in a way that prefigured a wave of Latin alternative rock acts.
