English-American rock musician born April 22, 1950, in Beckenham, Kent. First gained prominence as a member of the Herd (1966-1969) and Humble Pie (1969-1971) before launching a solo career. Distinguished by his pioneering use of the talk box ("Show Me the Way," "Do You Feel Like We Do").

Released 18 solo studio albums starting with Wind of Change (1972). Commercial peak: Frampton Comes Alive! (1976), one of the best-selling live albums of all time at over 8 million US copies sold. Subsequent peaks include I'm in You (1977) and a long late-career stretch as a respected session guitarist. Released Frampton Forgets the Words (2021), an instrumental covers album, despite a diagnosis of inclusion body myositis.
