American singer-songwriter born June 26, 1957, in New York City. Lead vocalist for Scandal (1981-1985) before launching her solo career. Distinguished by her gritty rock vocals and her surprise pop hit "The Warrior" (1984, with Scandal).
Released four solo studio albums between Never Enough (1987) and Live and Unreleased (2020). Best-known solo single: "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough" (1992, a duet with Don Henley that peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100). Has been married to tennis great John McEnroe since 1997.
