American singer born Patricia Mae Andrzejewski on January 10, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York. Long-running musical and personal partnership with husband Neil Giraldo (guitar/producer). Among the most commercially successful rock vocalists of the early 1980s, with four Grammy Awards for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance (1980-1983).
Twelve studio albums starting with In the Heat of the Night (1979). Commercial peak: Crimes of Passion (1980, featuring "Hit Me with Your Best Shot"), Precious Time (1981, featuring "Fire and Ice"), and Get Nervous (1982). Subsequent releases include Tropico (1984, featuring "We Belong") and Wide Awake in Dreamland (1988, featuring "All Fired Up"). Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.
