American thrash metal band formed in Old Bridge, New Jersey in 1980. Long-running lineup centered on vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth and bassist D.D. Verni (both with the band since formation). Considered foundational to the East Coast thrash scene alongside Anthrax.
Twenty studio albums starting with Feel the Fire (1985). Best-known releases include Taking Over (1987), The Years of Decay (1989), Horrorscope (1991), and Ironbound (2010). Active continuously since 1980 — exceptionally consistent for the genre.
