American old-time string band formed in Harrisonburg, Virginia in 1998. Long-running lineup historically centered on Ketch Secor (vocals/fiddle/harmonica) and Critter Fuqua (banjo/guitar, until 2007). Distinguished by their high-energy stage shows and their reinvigoration of pre-WWII string-band repertoire.
Nine studio albums between Old Crow Medicine Show (1998) and Jubilee (2023). Best-known recording: "Wagon Wheel" (2004), built on an unfinished Bob Dylan sketch — eventually a multi-platinum smash via Darius Rucker's 2013 cover. Members of the Grand Ole Opry since 2013.
