American punk rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1983 by Fat Mike (Michael Burkett, vocals/bass) and Eric Rea (Eric Melvin, guitar). Drummer Erik Sandin joined in 1983; guitarist El Hefe (Aaron Abeyta) added in 1991. The band released 14 studio albums on Fat Wreck Chords, the independent label Fat Mike co-founded; they never signed to a major.
Their commercial peak came with Punk in Drublic (1994), which sold over a million copies worldwide. Subsequent albums — So Long and Thanks for All the Shoes (1997), The Decline (1999), War on Errorism (2003), Wolves in Wolves' Clothing (2006) — sustained the band's underground influence. The band performed their final shows in 2024.
