Cuban-American singer-songwriter born in Cuba (raised in Caracas, Venezuela and Miami). Distinguished by his fusion of Cuban tres and Afro-Cuban rhythms with rock songwriting. Affiliated with the mid-1990s Miami singer-songwriter scene.
Released two studio albums: My First Child (1996) and Nil Lara (1997, Capitol Records). The latter was produced by Glyn Johns. Subsequent material has been independently released and primarily aimed at the Spanish-language market.
